Our proud Viking legacy
The culmination of the integration of Adkin and Grainger High Schools, the current Kinston High School campus proudly opened its doors in January of 1979. Brandishing the regal colors of forest green and old gold, our iconic Viking mascot and unique premises have been spearheading innovation in secondary education in Lenoir County ever since. Several notable athletes and scholars alike are proud to refer fondly to KHS as their Alma Mater.
